Iron Infusion

at Oxford Village Medical Centre · Sydney

Details.

Iron is delivered via an intravenous line to increase iron levels in the blood. It may treat anaemia or a low red blood cell count. IV iron may be necessary for people who do not absorb iron well, have severe iron deficiency or chronic blood loss, or receive blood-building drugs or hormones. Improvement may be gradual and can take about 6 to 10 weeks after completing the infusion.
