Lumenis M22 IPL uses filtered light pulses to target abnormal blood vessels and stimulate the Meibomian glands, helping restore oil production and treat dry eye symptoms. The treatment is pain free, although a slight warm sensation may be felt. Eye shields and cooling gel are used. Each session takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes, with 3 to 5 treatments recommended at intervals of 3 to 4 weeks. Meibomian gland expression may also be offered where suitable. Temporary discomfort and redness may occur, usually disappearing within a couple of hours.
