Intense pulsed light treatment for age spots, sun damage, birthmarks, freckles, rosacea, varicose veins, spider veins, and other pigmented lesions or skin imperfections. Treatments can be performed on the face, neck, chest, hands, or other areas of skin. The procedure is generally well tolerated, and an ice pack can be used afterward to soothe discomfort. Before treatment, avoid ultraviolet rays, waxes, chemical peels, aspirin, ibuprofen, and vitamin A skin products for two weeks. Use sunscreen daily and products for sensitive skin for about a week after treatment. A series of three to four treatments, spaced one month apart, is generally recommended.
