Details.
Iontophoresis therapy treats excessive sweating on the hands and feet, also known as palmoplantar hyperhidrosis. A low voltage, low amperage current is applied through a conductive medium such as water to reduce sweat gland activity. Treatment is initially undertaken 3 to 5 times per week, followed by maintenance treatments from once a week to once a fortnight, and sometimes once per month. No preparation is required. Downtime is minimal, pain level is mild, and no serious side effects have been reported.
