Details.
Iontophoresis therapy treats excessive sweating of the hands and feet, or palmoplantar hyperhidrosis. A low-voltage, low-amperage current is applied through a conductive medium such as water. The treatment has minimal downtime and mild pain. No preparation is required, and no serious side effects have been reported. Treatment is initially undertaken three to five times per week, followed by maintenance treatment from once a week to once a fortnight, or sometimes once a month.
