Intensive Language Action Therapy (ILAT)

Details.

Therapy for people with acquired aphasia who want to learn and practise language skills relevant to everyday communication. Includes daily sessions of approximately 2 hours over 2 to 3 consecutive weeks, usually in a group of 3 patients with a therapist, with individual training also possible. A neuropsychological assessment is conducted before treatment, followed by individually tailored therapeutic goals. Language skills are practised through language games and visual card sets focused on everyday communication, with training adjusted according to participants' progress.
