Pre-visit planning, resources, and day-of support for medical appointments and procedures. Helpful for patients who are fearful or anxious of the clinical environment or procedures, have communication limitations, sensory sensitivities, or require additional behavioral support. Support may include visits such as blood draws, eye exams, dental visits, vaccine administration, EEG or MRI, pulmonary treatments, emergency room visits, and inpatient stays. Consultations can be requested by Boston Medical Center clinicians or staff, or by families in advance of a scheduled appointment or admission.
