Pre-visit planning, resources, and day-of support for patients with autism and their families during medical appointments and procedures. Support may address anxiety, communication limitations, sensory sensitivities, and behavioral needs, and has been provided for blood draws, eye exams, dental visits, vaccinations, EEG or MRI, pulmonary treatments, emergency room visits, and inpatient stays. Consultations may be requested by Boston Medical Center clinicians or staff, or by families in advance of a scheduled appointment or admission.
