High-resolution pelvic ultrasound performed in the clinic and integrated into a specialist gynaecological consultation. May be carried out transvaginally or abdominally, with consent for the transvaginal approach. The uterus, endometrium, ovaries and surrounding pelvic structures can be assessed. Images are reviewed together in real time and results are discussed immediately, with no waiting period for the report. No special preparation is needed for a transvaginal ultrasound. For an abdominal ultrasound, a moderately full bladder may be requested.
