Free dental care for qualifying teenagers from School Year 9 until the day before their 18th birthday. Services may include annual check-ups, dental X-rays, cleaning, fillings, root canals, extractions, and fissure sealants. Appointments include assessment of the teeth, gums, and overall oral health, scaling and removal of plaque and tartar, and preventative oral hygiene advice. White fillings are included where clinically appropriate. Orthodontics, orthodontic related extractions, teeth whitening, and ACC claims are excluded. Children are entitled to one free check-up per calendar year, with additional free appointments available to assess problems such as toothache.
