Details.
A fluoride treatment performed in the dentist's office takes a few minutes and helps prevent cavities, tooth decay, and plaque buildup and hardening. After treatment, patients may be asked not to rinse, eat, or drink for at least 30 minutes to allow the teeth to absorb the fluoride. Treatment frequency may be every three, six, or 12 months, depending on oral health or the dentist's recommendation.
