A dispute resolution process for parenting matters where parties work with an independent mediator or registered FDR practitioner to try to resolve issues. Preparation may include parenting information, disclosure and consideration of safety concerns, family violence, child safety, urgency or other circumstances that may make FDR unsuitable. A registered FDR practitioner can issue a certificate generally needed before applying for parenting orders, unless an exemption applies.
