Surgical removal of a vaginal lesion under general anaesthesia or sedation, including removal of the lesion with a small margin of surrounding tissue, closure with dissolvable stitches, and laboratory histopathology analysis. Suitable for vaginal lumps, cysts, polyps, warts and other abnormalities requiring investigation or symptom relief. Usually performed as a day-case. Aftercare includes hygiene instructions, with advice to avoid intercourse, tampons and swimming for around 4 to 6 weeks. A follow-up appointment is scheduled around 2 weeks after the procedure to discuss the results.
