Details.
Small injections are made in the target area, usually the underarms, to block the nerves supplying the eccrine glands and prevent sweat production. Other treatable areas include the hands, feet, forehead and upper lip. The treatment may feel like mild discomfort, with a pinching or stinging sensation. Numbing cream can be applied if required. No specific preparation is needed, but the treatment cannot be performed during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Results usually become noticeable within 5 to 7 days, with full results taking up to 2 weeks, and typically last 3 to 6 months. There is no downtime, although small red bumps may occur and usually disappear within 1 hour. After treatment, do not lie down for 4 hours, avoid exercise for 24 hours and avoid massages on the treated area for 2 weeks.
