A 2-day course covering the basic tools, techniques and materials used in hand engraving, including tool set-up, sharpening, geometry, holding devices and image transfer. Participants experiment with engraving wax, wood, coconut, plastic and other materials, and explore storytelling through mark making. Students are encouraged to bring materials and objects to engrave. All tools and copper and brass base metals are provided, and the course includes two customised engravers fashioned to the participant's hand. Suitable for students, jewellers, artists and craft practitioners seeking to develop engraving skills and broaden their creative practice.
