Details.
A minimally invasive, ultrasound-guided laser treatment for varicose veins, performed under local tumescent anaesthesia. It is a walk-in, walk-out outpatient procedure with no hospital admission or overnight stay. Suitable for large symptomatic veins including the Great Saphenous Vein, Small Saphenous Vein, Anterior Accessory Saphenous Vein and perforator veins, particularly when they are fairly straight. Walking is encouraged immediately after treatment, while strenuous exercise should be avoided for three days. Compression stockings should be worn day and night for the first three days. The bandage can be removed after 24 hours and Steristrips after three days. Swimming and bathing should be avoided until the incisions have healed, usually within 3 to 7 days.
