Endoscopic Spinal Surgery

at A/Prof Richard Parkinson | Neurosurgeon · Sydney

Details.

Ultra-minimally invasive surgery used to treat various spinal conditions, including herniated discs, spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disease, spinal infections and some spinal tumours. The procedure uses a high-definition endoscope and surgical instruments through small incisions, usually less than 1 cm. Potential benefits include reduced muscle and tissue damage, shorter recovery times, less post-operative pain, shorter hospital stays and, in some cases, outpatient treatment. Suitability is determined after a thorough evaluation by a neurosurgeon.
