Details.
Also known as root canal therapy, this treatment removes infected or diseased tissue from inside the tooth, cleans and seals the root canal, fills the tooth with biocompatible material, and restores it with a filling or crown. Local anesthesia is applied before treatment. Post-treatment care may include good oral hygiene, avoiding sugary foods and drinks, and wearing a protective restoration such as a dental crown or temporary filling until the tooth heals. Patients can typically return to normal activities within a day or two.
