Treatment for pain related to chronic soft tissue conditions including tennis or golfer's elbow, plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy, patellar tendinopathy, shin splints, bursitis, ITB syndrome, rotator cuff tendinitis, hamstring tendinitis and chronic trigger points. After an examination of the affected area, shockwaves are applied via a handpiece or applicator. Sessions may involve up to 2,000 pulses and can cause temporary soreness, bruising, numbness or heaviness. Rest from aggravating activities for 2 to 3 days after treatment. Pregnancy, bleeding or blood coagulation disorders, skin wounds or acute inflammation in the treatment area, and tumours in the treatment area may make treatment inappropriate.
