General digital X-ray imaging performed by a qualified Medical Imaging Technologist specialising in Digital Radiography. The examination may be performed while standing, sitting or lying down, depending on the area being imaged. Patients must bring a signed referral form. No special dietary preparation is required. Clothing and items containing metal must be removed and a hospital gown will be worn. The examination may involve palpation to ensure correct positioning and briefly holding your breath. Images are reviewed by a qualified Radiologist, with a report forwarded to the referring clinician. Patients who are or think they may be pregnant must inform the Radiographer before the examination.
