Digital radiography for assessing underlying dental tissues and structures, including tooth roots, jawbone, nerves, jaw joints, unerupted and impacted teeth, and the surfaces where teeth meet. Digital x-rays emit 80 to 90% less radiation than traditional low-dose x-rays, do not require plastic image-printing sheets or harsh chemicals, and images are securely stored digitally. Images can be viewed and enlarged on a computer screen to explain findings and treatment options.
