Details.
A shell-like layer placed over existing teeth to improve their appearance, including their shape, size, length and colour. Veneers can transform misaligned teeth, chipped teeth, gaps and discolouration. Porcelain veneers are attached after enamel preparation and custom moulding, while composite resin veneers are applied in layers, hardened with a light, then shaped and polished. Veneers may be unsuitable for weak or damaged teeth, clenching or grinding, an unsuitable bite, oral infections or heavily stained teeth. Porcelain veneers typically last 10 to 15 years, while composite veneers typically last 4 to 8 years. Maintain them with good oral hygiene, a soft toothbrush, regular dental check-ups and by avoiding grinding, clenching and chewing non-food objects.
