Details.
Dental implant treatment replaces missing teeth with a high-grade pure titanium implant placed in the jaw bone. The procedure includes assessment of the jaw and surrounding tooth, treatment of dental decay if needed, thorough cleaning, X-rays and, occasionally, a CT scan. Treatment may involve implant placement, gum sutures, healing and fusion with the jaw bone over 5 to 6 months, abutment placement and permanent restoration after 4 to 6 weeks. Stitches are typically removed within 7 to 14 days. A bone graft may be needed when there is insufficient bone material.
