Custom-made caps that cover damaged, decayed or unattractive teeth to protect the tooth, improve its strength and enhance its appearance. Crowns are available in porcelain, ceramic and metal alloys. The service typically involves two appointments: assessment and preparation with decay removal, tooth shaping, impressions and a temporary crown, followed by fitting, bonding and adjustment of the permanent crown. Local anaesthesia is used during preparation. Suitable for severely decayed, cracked, worn, discoloured or misshapen teeth, and for covering dental implants or supporting bridges. Regular brushing, flossing and dental check-ups are recommended after treatment.
