Custom-made caps that fit over an existing tooth or dental implant to protect and reinforce damaged teeth, restore worn-down teeth, cover severe discolouration, support teeth with large fillings, or hold dental bridges in place. Crowns are designed to match the colour and shape of surrounding teeth. Treatment consists of two appointments approximately two weeks apart, with tooth preparation at the first appointment and fitting and adjustments at the second. Available materials include stainless steel, metal, porcelain-fused-to-metal, resin, ceramic, porcelain and zirconia. The dentist will discuss the options based on your needs. Good oral hygiene and regular check-ups are recommended after fitting.
