Details.
A full restoration for teeth affected by multiple fillings, extensive decay or general damage. Crowns may also be used after root canal treatment. Treatment includes checking the tooth for infection, preparing the tooth while preserving a strong core, taking impressions and recording the tooth colour, fitting a temporary crown between appointments, and permanently cementing the finished crown in place. Local anaesthetic is used during preparation and fitting. Patients can choose the crown colour, with advice on matching the natural tooth shade. Whitening should be completed before crown treatment if desired, as whitening does not affect crowns.
