Details.
A tooth-coloured resin is applied to the teeth, shaped and set with ultraviolet light. Dental bonding can repair decayed, chipped or cracked teeth, close spaces between teeth, change the shape of teeth, provide a cosmetic alternative to amalgam fillings, and protect exposed tooth roots caused by receding gums. Only one visit is needed, anaesthetic is usually not required, and the procedure is described as quick, cost effective and minimally invasive. After treatment, brush and floss as normal unless advised otherwise. Avoid staining substances such as tea, coffee, red wine and cigarette smoke for the first 48 hours, and avoid biting or chewing hard foods on the affected tooth long term to help prevent chipping.
