A two-day workshop focused on sympathetically conserving cloth bindings of artifactual value, with an emphasis on 19th century bindings. Participants will learn two repair techniques for bindings with a mostly present or missing cloth spine, including volumes with detached boards or one attached and one loose board. Participants should bring at least two appropriate bindings to work on. All other tools and supplies are provided. No prerequisite. Students must be 18 or older by the class start date.
