Treatment may use adjunct techniques such as atherectomy, thrombectomy, distal protection devices, and left ventricular assist devices including IABP, Impella, or ECMO. A heart team approach includes consultation with a cardiologist, cardiothoracic surgeon, and cardiac interventionalist.
