Includes a suitability consultation, application of local anaesthetic cream and a series of small injections containing deoxycholic acid. Suitable for people with stable weight who want to reduce localised fat under the chin and prefer a non-surgical option. Pre-treatment guidance includes stopping vitamin E supplements 7 days beforehand, avoiding blood-thinning medication for 48 hours with a doctor's approval, avoiding alcohol for 24 hours and maintaining hydration. Aftercare includes avoiding strenuous exercise, saunas and steam rooms for 48 hours, wearing compression garments as directed and drinking 2 to 3 litres of water daily. Temporary swelling, redness and bruising may occur.
