A blood test for Trisomy 21 and Trisomy 18 and a few other chromosomal abnormalities. It detects 99% of babies with Down syndrome. If requested, the test can also identify the sex of the baby. Five percent of patients will have a positive result, and a positive screening result does not mean the baby is affected.
