A blood test for Trisomy 21, Trisomy 18, and some other chromosomal abnormalities. It detects 99% of babies with Down syndrome, but is less accurate for some other abnormalities. The test can also identify the sex of the baby. A positive screening result does not confirm that the baby has an abnormality.
