Balloon Angioplasty for Peripheral Arterial Disease

at Natalie Marks, MD · New York

Details.

A minimally invasive treatment for blocked arteries in the legs. A catheter with an attached balloon is inserted into an artery in the arm or groin. The balloon inflates and deflates to push the blockage against the artery walls, widen the vessel, and improve blood flow. The practice uses ultrasound guidance without toxic contrast or radiation.
