Injection of a patient's own blood into a tendon to aid repair of tendinopathy or tendon injury, using ultrasound or CT guidance. A doctor's referral and appointment are required. Aspirin and anti-inflammatory medication should not be taken for one week before the procedure, unless low-dose aspirin is being taken for another medical condition. Bring your request form, previous imaging, Medicare card and concession cards. Allow 30 to 40 minutes. Rest the treated area for two weeks, avoid exercise or activities that cause pain, and arrange a follow-up appointment four weeks after the procedure.
