An over-the-counter medicated wash using ketoconazole 1%, selenium sulfide, or zinc pyrithione on the affected skin. Apply over the whole area, leave on for several minutes before rinsing, and use daily for two to four weeks. May be followed by once- or twice-weekly maintenance.
