24 hour, 7 day emergency care for recent visual problems in children and adults. The service treats medical, surgical and traumatic eye conditions, from the cornea to the retina, as well as orbital surgery and neuro-ophthalmic emergencies. Care includes triage by an emergency nurse, examination by an ophthalmologist and further ophthalmic examinations if needed. Immediate emergency surgery can be performed on site day or night. Some conditions may require hospitalisation, day assessments or specialist follow-up consultations.
