A first gynecologic visit for teens, generally recommended between ages 13 and 15. The visit may include questions, discussion of general health and future exams, and a comprehensive exam when appropriate. A pelvic exam is usually not included unless needed for symptoms such as irregular menstrual bleeding or pelvic pain. Evaluation may include a breast exam, external genital evaluation, sexually transmitted disease testing, and vaccination discussion.
