A portable ECG Holter monitor continuously records the heart's electrical activity over 24 hours to 7 days. Sticky electrodes are attached to the chest and connected to a small recorder worn on a belt or in a pocket. You can continue normal daily activities and will be asked to keep a diary of symptoms such as palpitations, dizziness and chest pain. The test helps investigate intermittent arrhythmias, palpitations, skipped beats, unexplained fainting and other rhythm disturbances that a standard ECG may miss.
