ZFF specialists provide free advice without an appointment on questions about the development of babies and nutrition for preschool children at four neighbourhood meeting points. Advice is available on Wednesdays from 10.00 to 11.00 at Eltern Kind Zentrum MaKly, on Thursdays from 10.00 to 11.30 at Kontaktstelle Eltern und Kind St. Johann, on Tuesdays from 16.00 to 17.30 at FAZ Familienzentrum Gundeli, and every second Tuesday from 10.15 to 11.45 in even calendar weeks at Treffpunkt Breite.

Femmes-Tische an öffentlichen Orten 2026

Free discussion sessions for parents at public locations in Basel. All parents are welcome and childcare is provided on site. Sessions in 2026 cover topics including children and money, mental health, puberty, learning opportunities from age 0 to 4, children and school, family and digital media, and relationships. Dates and times vary by location.

A voluntary and free programme for families in difficult situations with a child aged around two who live in the Canton of Basel-Stadt. A trained home visitor comes to your home with play ideas and toys. The programme starts every year in September and March and lasts two years. In the first year there is a weekly home visit and a group meeting every 14 days. In the second year there are only group meetings.

Femmes-Tische

Free discussion groups for mothers who want to learn more about life and everyday life in Switzerland. Groups meet in small groups near them, with a trained facilitator and childcare provided. Sessions last one and a half hours and are available in Albanian, Arabic, German, English, French, Hindi, Kurdish, Dutch, Portuguese, Spanish, Tibetan and Turkish.
