Forest school-inspired sessions for children and adults. Play in nature, learn new songs, share stories, make nature crafts and finish with quiet time and a story. Meet at the courtyard. £5 per child. Normal admission charges also apply, and non-members need to purchase an entrance ticket to the centre.

Dragonfly Courtyard Adventures

Join Pip Pondskimmer for a summer of dragonfly adventures, storytelling, games and spectacular performances. Families can drop in throughout the day for interactive activities, movement games, bubble play, discovery challenges, dragonfly-inspired circus performances and stories. Suitable for all ages. Activities and performances may vary from day to day.

Adult Bat Walks

Explore WWT London Wetland Centre after dark on a guided adult bat walk with a bat expert. See bats hunting over the lakes and ponds, use supplied bat detectors to identify species, and enjoy a welcome drink plus two drinks, including alcoholic options, and s'mores around the fire. For over 18s only. Meet outside the admission entrance. The gate opens 30 minutes before the event, and late arrivals cannot be admitted. This event is sold out.

Dragonfly Sensory Stories

Relaxed and interactive sensory storytelling sessions inspired by dragonflies and wetland wildlife, combining stories, movement, sounds and sensory play. Perfect for younger visitors and families. Sessions take place in the Pond Zone and last approximately 20 minutes. Free, included with admission to the centre.

Pyrography Workshop: Dragonflies & Wetland Nature

A hands-on introductory workshop exploring the meditative art of woodburning, inspired by the landscapes of the London Wetlands and the delicate form of the dragonfly. Beginners are welcome, with no prior experience needed. Learn woodburning safety, temperature control, line work, texture and shading, then add acrylic colours and metallic sparkle. All tools, safety equipment, pre-sanded wood blanks, paints and a finished dragonfly artwork to take home are included. Suitable for ages 8 and over, but children must be supervised by an adult. Sign up on arrival. Spaces are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Included with centre admission, in the Thames Water H2O building.

Junior Bat Walks

A magical after-hours adventure for children aged 7 and over to discover bats in the wild, use bat detectors to hear their calls, and toast marshmallows around a campfire. Children must be accompanied by an adult, with a limit of one adult per booking. The gate opens 30 minutes before the event and late arrivals cannot be admitted. Marshmallows are provided, including vegan-friendly options, but may contain traces of nuts.

David Lindo's 20th Anniversary FREE Birdwalking Event

Join David Lindo, The Urban Birder, for a free bird walk celebrating his 20th anniversary. The event is suitable for all ages, members and non-members, and includes smiles, tales from concrete jungles and learning about birds. Places are limited to the first 20 applicants, booking is essential. The walk finishes in the café for lunch. Meeting point: Courtyard Pagoda, WWT London. The ticket includes admission to WWT London for the day. This event is sold out.
