State funding for sustainable heating systems

From 21 July 2026, the state supports the switch to sustainable heating systems with a 30% base subsidy. Replacing an old, functioning heating system currently provides an additional 16% climate speed bonus for owner-occupied residential property, provided the building is no longer heated with fossil fuels. An income bonus for owner-occupied residential property is available at 40% for taxable household income up to EUR 30,000, 30% up to EUR 40,000 and 10% up to EUR 50,000. The total state subsidy is capped at up to 80% of eligible total costs for one residential unit, subject to the stated income conditions. No legal entitlement to funding exists and all information is provided without guarantee.
