Tower Bridge Traffic Lights

A drop-in family activity celebrating 50 years since Tower Bridge switched from steam power to electricity. Learn how Tower Bridge relies on traffic lights to stop traffic before a bridge lift, discover simple circuits, and make a traffic light that lights up. No booking is required. Free with a Tower Bridge entry ticket. Children of all ages are welcome, but the activity is best suited to children aged 7 and over. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Drop in and put your questions to the Tower Bridge technical team and Bridge Drivers, who can explain how Tower Bridge works today and how it has changed over the years. Visitors of all ages are welcome. Sessions are held in the Engine Rooms, are subject to cancellation at short notice, and are included with an entry ticket. Pre-booking entry tickets is recommended.

Group Visits

Visit Tower Bridge as a group with access to the iconic Towers, Walkways and Victorian Engine Rooms. Groups of 15 or more must pre-book. Group time slots are available daily from 09:50 to 16:10, with slots from 12:50 on the second Saturday of each month due to Relaxed Opening. Allow approximately 1 to 1.5 hours for the visit.

Welcome All

A complimentary orientation service for groups with special needs and/or accessibility support. A Welcome Host meets the group before the self-guided visit and provides an orientation to Tower Bridge's layout, facilities and access support. This is not a group guided tour. Pre-booking is essential. The service is available Monday to Friday at 09:50, 10:10, 10:50 and 11:10, lasts 30 minutes, takes place in the Engine Rooms and has a maximum capacity of 24.
