Private Coaching

Private coaching sessions are available at The Working Actors Gym studio. Sessions start at $50 per half hour or $85 per hour. For additional coaching on a BC-filmed project or tapes for projects filmed outside the province, contact the studio. The page notes that UBCP/ACTRA projects filmed in BC provide a paid-for self-tape service at zero cost to the actor.

Foundational Actors Class

Six week foundational acting course with Kate Craven for newer actors, covering preparation to performance, character, relationship, genre, voice, body, mind, pre-set, on-set and post-set practices, professionalism and agency advice. The course includes script analysis, voice and body work, scene study, audition guidance, industry advice and a one-minute demo reel built from class work during the final week. Wednesday 6-9pm. $480.00 + GST for a 6 week block.

Advanced Actors Performance Class

Five week performance class for advanced actors, hosted by Aaron Craven. The class is by invite only for Working Actors Gym students and alumni cast members from the theatre company's plays. Actors rehearse short, stand-alone plays for four weeks, followed by a performance for an invited audience in the final week. The final performance, called Short Plays and a Social, includes a social mixer. Tuesday 6-10pm. Contact the studio for the next start date. $420.00 + GST for a 5 week block. The final performance takes place at an alternate venue to be announced.

Weekly advanced acting class with Aaron Craven featuring scene study, on-camera audition work, voice and improvisation. Previous acting training and an audit of class are prerequisites to joining. Monday 6-10pm, ongoing. Available in four and twelve week bundles, to be taken consecutively. $325.00 + GST for a 4 week block or $835.00 + GST for a 12 week block.

Class materials range from film and television sides to modern plays, with an emphasis on grounded and authentic performances tailored for the screen. Previous acting training and an audit of the class are prerequisites to joining.
