Joe Mackertich, the editor of Time Out, talks to The Greenhouse Theatre artistic director Oli Savage about storytelling as a route to environmental action and inspiring more sustainable lifestyles. The talk is followed by food and drinks from the zero-waste bar.

Sauna and Myth

Hackney Wick Community Sauna Baths brings a pop-up sauna to The Greenhouse Theatre camp, with authentic Nordic sauna sessions and cold water plunges. On Saturday and Sunday, immersive Sauna Rituals tell an ancient Irish myth about tragic love through spoken word, movement, music and heat.

The Greenhouse Theatre Youth Festival

A day festival curated with Newham youth and youth organisations, featuring local music, creative workshops, activities, games, dance, food and a zero-waste bar. The programme includes a fleamarket and fashion swaps, exhibitions, lawn games, zine-making, hoola hooping, steel pan drums, bike craft, BMX practice and creative movement. The festival is delivered by creatives aged 15 to 30 for young people of the same age.

Upcycled Craft and Toy Swaps

Learn to create crafts using items from the recycling bin. Materials are provided, and children must be accompanied by a guardian. A toy swap stall allows children to exchange an unwanted toy in good condition for something new.
