Member Appreciation Night

Member Appreciation Night takes place on Sunday, August 9. Regular Sundance Saloon admission is $7 for guests age 21 and over.

Two-Step and Line Dancing

Country-western two-step and line dancing for the LGBTQ+ community and friends, with beginning lessons. Entry is $7, and admission is for ages 21 and over. No outside beverages or beverage containers.

Line Dance Pro

Weekly line dance sessions in the back room with lessons starting at 5:15 pm. Sessions run every Sunday except the first Sunday of the month, and the last Sunday of the month features a line dance marathon. Check the instruction calendar for the schedule.

Clogging at Sundance Saloon

Thu, 27 Aug

The Barbary Coast Cloggers teach clogging, a form of percussive line dance, upstairs in the loft. The 6:30 to 7:30 pm class is percussive line dance for any level, followed by an experienced-level class from 7:30 to 8:30 pm. Classes are drop-in with no additional fee beyond regular Sundance Saloon admission.

Intermediate West Coast Swing

Sun, 30 Aug

A one-hour workshop led by Shin Aoki for dancers completely comfortable with basic west coast swing patterns, including the side pass, underarm turn, tuck, and basic whips. The class is drop-in, with no advance registration and no additional fee beyond regular Sundance Saloon admission.

Summer Round-Up

A Labor Day weekend line dance celebration featuring a line dance marathon in the main room from opening until 7:15 pm, beginning two-step and line dance lessons in the back room, regular open dancing from 7:15 pm, and the September birthday dance with cake.

September Birthday Dance

A monthly celebration for everyone with a birthday that month. Birthday guests are invited to the dance floor for a designated dance, and cake is provided.

Sundance at Union Square

Fri, 11 Sept

Free lessons and open dancing in Union Square, with a mix of partner dancing and line dancing, frequent quick novice lessons for passersby, and boot-check and bag-check availability.

Underwear Night

Sun, 20 Sept

A fun, optional night where guests may dance in their underwear, with free clothes check. Guests may also attend fully clothed. No photos or videos are allowed except in designated areas, and respectful behavior is required.

Black & Blue Ball

Sun, 27 Sept

A Leather Pride week celebration and post-Folsom Street Fair party. Leather, gear, and fetish wear are welcome and encouraged, while black and/or blue clothing is also appropriate. Regular lessons and dancing continue. Regular admission is $7.

Sun, 4 Oct

Country-western dancing at the Castro Street Fair, featuring two-step and line dancing, quick novice lessons throughout the afternoon, and boot-check availability for bags, clothes, or street shoes. Sundance Saloon is also open after the fair with its usual lessons and dancing.
