My name is Sebastian Backhaus, a Berlin-based photographer. In 2013, while travelling through different countries of the Mediterranean, I discovered photography, taking my first pictures during the political unrest in Cairo. Before I began taking photos, I ran a nightclub and managed a child and youth welfare organisation. Today I cover humanitarian crises and wars throughout the Middle East.
