Rock 101

Ages 8-13. Students attend one weekly group rehearsal to learn simplified classic rock songs for beginner musicians, plus one weekly private music lesson focused on the concepts and skills behind their performance songs.

Performance Program

Mon, 31 Aug

Ages 8-18. Students learn iconic rock songs in a peer band during weekly group rehearsals and refine their parts in weekly private music lessons. Every few months, students perform at local Brooklyn music venues in front of a live audience.

Rookies

Mon, 31 Aug

Ages 6-7. Students attend one weekly group music lesson covering fundamentals such as chords, rhythm and song structure, with opportunities to learn and experiment with multiple instruments. No prior musical experience is needed.

Little Wing

Ages 3-5. Students attend one weekly group music lesson using games, interactive musical activities and classic rock songs to learn rhythm, song structure, melody and dynamics through play.

Songwriting

Mon, 31 Aug

Ages 12 and over. Students receive one weekly private lesson covering songwriting, arrangement and music theory, followed by a weekly group lesson with songwriting exercises and lyrical workshops. Every few months, students perform or record their original songs.

Adult Program

Ages 18+. Open to all experience levels, including students with no prior musical experience. Students receive one weekly private music lesson and participate in a weekly group rehearsal in an adult band, preparing for a live show at a Brooklyn venue.

House Band

Mon, 31 Aug

For students age 17 and under. Selected students join a gigging band, perform additional live shows throughout the year at New York rock venues, and gain experience as musicians, leaders and mentors in the School of Rock community.

AllStars Tour

Mon, 31 Aug

For students age 17 and under. Selected Performance Program students take part in a nationwide summer tour with live performances at venues and festivals, including travel on a tour bus and tour publicity.
