Dr. Karagozian received his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine. He completed an Internal Medicine residency at University of Southern California (USC) and a Gastroenterology fellowship at Brigham & Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School. He subsequently completed an advanced fellowship in Transplant Hepatology at New York Presbyterian-Columbia and Cornell. He comes to Tufts Medical Center from Yale School of Medicine, where he worked closely with the Yale New Haven Transplantation Center focusing on liver transplant. Dr Karagozian’s clinical areas of interest include cirrhosis, liver transplant, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, viral hepatitis, cholestatic liver disease (PBC, PSC), hemochromatosis, and drug induced liver injury. His research interests include clinical outcomes associated with end stage liver disease and liver transplant, obesity and liver disease, health care utilization in chronic liver disease/cirrhosis, and outcomes in cholestatic liver diseases. He has published numerous abstracts and peer-reviewed publications in the field of gastroenterology and hepatology and has presented his research at national meetings.
