The Pleasures of Versailles

A performance featuring two tiny operas by Marc-Antoine Charpentier, Pleasures of Versailles, sung in French with English subtitles, and Love Conquers All, sung in Italian with English surtitles. The production explores the pleasures of court life and shepherds and shepherdesses falling in love. It runs for 75 minutes with no interval and features Pinchgut Opera artists and the Orchestra of the Antipodes.

Handel's Baroque opera, sung in Italian with English surtitles. In this magical tale of chivalry and cunning, the knight Rinaldo battles the scheming sorceress Armida to rescue his beloved Almirena. The production presents a contemporary setting with flavours of a medieval fairy tale. Duration is 3 hours, including a 20 minute interval.

Pinchgut Opera presents Pergolesi's Maid Made Boss and Handel's Messiah in the original Dublin version from 1742. Maid Made Boss is sung in Italian with English surtitles and runs for approximately 70 minutes without interval. The performance is being recorded by ABC Classic for future broadcast.
