Films about parliamentary history and the tasks and functions of the German Bundestag are shown daily at 14:00 in the cinema of the Parliamentary History Exhibition. The cinema has seating for 54 people. The film programme varies by day: Tuesdays, Kaiserreich und Weimarer Republik - 1871 bis 1933; Wednesdays, Das Dritte Reich - 1933 bis 1945; Thursdays, Herz der Demokratie and Parlamentarier unter dem Hakenkreuz; Fridays, Dem deutschen Volke - Eine parlamentarische Spurensuche and Das Reichstagsgebäude in der deutschen Geschichte; Saturdays, Applaus für Felix - Ein Tag im Bundestag and Der Umzug vom Rhein an die Spree; Sundays, Herz der Demokratie and Dem deutschen Volke - Eine parlamentarische Spurensuche.

Schülerprojekte

Educational school projects are offered on request and with written registration for secondary school levels I and II. Each project lasts 3 to 3.5 hours and is limited to class size. The projects cover parliamentary history or the tasks and functions of the German Bundestag, and include six educational stations based on independent student work with prepared worksheets, followed by presentations and discussion. The projects can take place on any German Cathedral opening day except Mondays, from 10:00. Registration is required.

Rollenspiel Plenarsitzung

The interactive 45-minute Plenary Session role-play teaches participants about the work of Bundestag members, the legislative process, the structure and seating arrangement of the plenary chamber, parliamentary roles and the procedure of a plenary session. Up to 50 politically interested young people aged 14 and over and adults can participate. Role-plays for school students from approximately age 10 may also be arranged. The role-play is offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays during Bundestag sitting weeks, with sessions at 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, 13:00, 14:00, 15:00, 16:00 and 17:00, plus 18:00 from May to September. Registration is required.

Projekttag Demokratie

The Democracy Project Day promotes participation in parliamentary democratic processes and democratic engagement by providing information about the tasks, working methods and functions of the German Bundestag and the basic principles of parliamentarianism in the Federal Republic of Germany. It can last up to five hours, is limited to a maximum group size of 50 people and requires registration. Project days including the plenary session role-play are available only on Tuesdays and Thursdays during Bundestag sitting weeks. Other project days can take place on any exhibition opening day except Mondays, from 10:00.

Free guided tours

Free guided tours are offered for individual visitors and groups of up to 10 people between 11:00 and 17:00 every 30 minutes. Each tour lasts half an hour and covers selected exhibition topics. Tours may also be available in English and French by arrangement, and registration is not required. Groups of 10 to 50 people require registration and a prior appointment.

Guided Tours

Free half-hour guided tours on selected exhibition topics are offered every 30 minutes between 11:00 and 17:00 for individual visitors and groups of up to 10 people. Registration is not required. Tours can also be arranged in English and French by prior agreement.
